Vitamin B1 – Thiamine
Thiamine is one of the most commonly deficient vitamins in the world today, especially among the rice eating peoples who use white rice (which is quicker to cook) instead of the more nutritious unrefined brown rice. By removing the outer bran during refining, 70% of the Thiamine in rice is lost. Wheat also loses 60% of Thiamine when refined into white flour.
